READY TO WORK (RTW) is dedicated to assisting people towards career opportunities in the Tourism field and in fostering a stronger learning culture within the Tourism Sector. The program is an enhanced, entry-level skills development program available for Youth, New Canadians, Persons wtih Disabilities and Older Workers.
Through Occupational Standards based material and National Certification, we coordinate Ready to Work programs across the province in order to successfully integrate participants into entry level positions in Tourism. The four-week program focuses on Tourism Essentials designed to prepare the participant for the workforce. There is no cost to the participant for taking the program. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive two national certificates and nine provincial certificates including:
- SuperHost Atlantic - Expect Excellence
- First Aid/CPR
- It’s Good Business Responsible Beverage Server Program
- Food Handlers Course
- Tourism WHMIS
- Stress Management
- Time Management
- Basic Budgeting
- Workplace Etiquette
- Professionalism
- Introduction to Tourism
- Basic Communication Skills
- Job Readiness
