READY TO WORK (RTW) TOURISM CAREERS is dedicated to assisting young people towards career opportunities in the Tourism field and in fostering a stronger learning culture within the Tourism Industry. The program is an enhanced, entry-level skills development program available for young adults between ages 15 and 30 from all walks of life and cultures.
Through Occupational Standards based material and National Certification, we coordinate Ready to Work programs across the province in order to successfully integrate youth into entry level positions in the Tourism Industry. The four-week program focuses on Tourism Essentials designed to prepare the participant for the workforce. There is no cost to the participant for taking the program. In addition to career planning and entry level skills, participants will receive:
- SuperHost Customer Service Program
- First Aid/CPR
- It’s Good Business Responsible Beverage Program
- National Sanitation
- Food Handlers Course
- WHMIS
- Stress Management
- Time Management
- Personal Budgeting
- Workplace Etiquette
- Professionalism
- Introduction to Tourism
- Basic Communication Skills
- Job Readiness
